Lawrence B. Saftler

Mr. Saftler was born on April 30, 1952. He is married, with two children. Mr. Saftler received his degree in 1977 from the Western New England School of Law. He was admitted to practice in 1978, practicing exclusively in plaintiff's personal injury for approximately 20 years. Over that span of time, Mr. Saftler has represented numerous individuals in obtaining success in personal injury lawsuits. Mr. Saftler has brought to trial numerous cases, including motor vehicle cases, product liability lawsuits, medical malpractice lawsuits, elevator accidents, falls, and construction accidents.

Mr. Saftler has breached new theories of law on occasion in pursuit of his client's interests, including exposing the black car limousine companies to negligence claims for their drivers, and setting a standard requiring the use of Ct Scans in the detection of foreign bodies causing infection. In the year 2000, he received the highest verdict in the state by over 7.6 million dollars which when reduced by the Appellate Division, was still the highest award in the state for a fall down by over $800,000.00. The verdict was for $10,000,000.00. The Appellate Division reduced it to $3,024,000.00. Mr. Saftler has successfully negotiated a substantial settlement for a victim of an Isuzu Trooper rollover accident where the injured party was over the legal drinking limit. Mr. Saftler has negotiated high six figure settlements on many construction accident cases. 

Mr. Saftler has spoken on behalf of the New York State Bar Association with regard to construction site liability as a featured speaker. He has sat as a moot court judge for the National Moot Court Competition. He is a member of Strathmore's "Who's Who" commencing this year.

Mr. Saftler is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers, American Trial Lawyers Association and the Automobile Information Exchange Group.
